“The Mistress” Book Review II

Over the weekend, I finished The Mistress by Danielle Steel. This book centered around the mistress to a wealthy Russian businessman who provided everything she needed, as long as she didn’t cross him. Supporting characters include a man who is an artist that falls in love with Natasha (the mistress), his mother, her boyfriend, and of course, the Russian businessman.

Set against the backdrop of the south of France, Paris, Italy, and the ocean, this novel took the readers inside a world that very few know anything about. Being a mistress to a billionaire. Now, the term mistress in this book does not mean that the Russian businessman is married. He isn’t. And neither is Natasha. She ended up being owned by him. This interesting position ended up causing the character to grow quite a bit over the course of the novel.
