Wow!

I’ll admit, this book was a pretty fast read. Though I did put it down for a full day without touching it because I wasn’t sure I was ready to continue on with the story.

In essence, this book contained two separate stories that were linked together by the two couples’ love for each other. Of course, there was this underlying vibe that the second couple was really the first couple in some reincarnated form. I think this was Steel’s point with this book, though. “The Mistress” Book Review II

  • Title: The Mistress
  • Year Published: 2017
  • Publisher Novel Number: 103

Over the weekend, I finished The Mistress by Danielle Steel. This book centered around the mistress to a wealthy Russian businessman who provided everything she needed, as long as she didn’t cross him. Supporting characters include a man who is an artist that falls in love with Natasha (the mistress), his mother, her boyfriend, and of course, the Russian businessman.

Set against the backdrop of the south of France, Paris, Italy, and the ocean, this novel took the readers inside a world that very few know anything about. Being a mistress to a billionaire. Now, the term mistress in this book does not mean that the Russian businessman is married. He isn’t. And neither is Natasha. She ended up being owned by him. This interesting position ended up causing the character to grow quite a bit over the course of the novel.

It’s finished! I’ve finally finished the first Danielle Steel book for this project!

When I finished this book, I was overjoyed. First, I was shocked that I actually finished a DS novel. It was something I could never see myself doing. It also showed me that maybe completing this project was a possibility. Granted, I know that I still have over 150 more books to read (and they just keep coming!), but still I was very excited. Frankly, I’m looking forward to the next one and lining up which ones will be read when.
