I know, it’s been a minute, right? I’m still chugging along with Zoya. For some reason I’ve seemed to have lost my “reading steam.” I think it’s partly because I’m getting annoyed with this book. I won’t give spoilers until the review, but the main character, Zoya, experiences so much loss and heartbreak it’s actually becoming difficult to keep reading. I have around 100 pages left to go and I hope things start to turn around for her.

Reading Plan
As I sit here, well into my fifth Danielle Steel novel, I decided that I I need to take a little break from the reading aspect of this project and turn to the “management” side of it.
What I mean is, I think I should take away one of the more challenging aspects of it for a while. I decided to go ahead and plan out the next handful of book that I’ll read. This way, I can work on getting books from another library if needed, or try to find the title online if none of the nearby libraries own a copy.

Last weekend I started my fifth Danielle Steel novel, Zoya. This book is from the late 1980s and its Steel’s 23rd novel. At the time of writing this post, I was a little over 75 pages into the book. I was lucky enough to come across a first edition hardcover of this book that was in stellar condition. (Library book sales for the win!!) I have some interesting first impressions that I thought I’d share.

Taking a Trip Back in Time
Sometime next week, my fourth Danielle Steel book review will post on the site. I can’t wait to share with you all my thoughts on The Whittiers. It was a family drama with really relatable characters.
But I am currently looking for my next Danielle Steel read. I decided that I would make it be one of the books that I own…since I have somehow amassed over a dozen in the recent weeks!

A few weekends ago, I stopped in my local Barnes and Noble. Now, as an avid book buyer, I typically find myself in a bookstore once or twice a month. I usually buy a fantasy title or two; sometimes a cookbook winds up on the seat next to me on the way home.
This trip, I ended up browsing the area of the store to see what kind of Danielle Steel books they would have available. I was a little surprised to say the least. They had only paperback versions and not even the most recent novels. Now, I’m not adverse to paperback books. In fact, most of my non-cookbooks are indeed paperback editions. But, they didn’t even have the latest releases from Danielle Steel. So I couldn’t buy the most recent hardcover (Never Too Late) even if I wanted to.

The other day, I happened to be browsing about online for Danielle Steel information. I came across her publisher’s website and I noticed that they quietly announced the first book of Danielle’s to be published in 2025! Never Say Never (nn.162-2025) will be available on January 7. As of this writing, there is no plot summary or cover image provided. I’ll be sure to update you all when the publisher gives more information!
